LIVING LACE RONSE

September 24 - November 6, 2022

Living Lace npa, is lucky to be able to work together with the city of Ronse, a renowned and cozy textile city that has many cultural and other assets.

Bruges became famous as a textile city for its lace, Ronse for the many weaving and dyeing factories and the textile barons who built beautiful mansions in Art Nouveau style.

Ronse has a tradition of a biennial high-quality Textile Festival. From September 24 to November 6, 2022, Lace will be the common thread running throughout the whole festival.

The theme is therefore: The hidden side of Lace (Shadow Lace). The event offers much more than bobbin lace and needle lace, but work in or with these techniques will be prominent. Transparency, connection of threads or lace motifs are important. In addition, the shadow tells its own story.

In collaboration with the city of Ronse, we offer you a wonderful activity in six different locations all over the city, indoors, outdoors or on the water, a beautiful and varied walking circuit. Lace-linked work by very famous artists from the collections of contemporary art museums such as the SMAK in Ghent (Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst) and the MuHKA in Antwerp (Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst) will also be on display.

From September till November 2022 Belgium will be the stage for contemporary lace exhibitions. Greet Rome, President of Living Lace npa, will accompany you on a guided coach tour sometime between October 23 and October 30, 2022. From one city to another you'll explore Belgian hospitality, gastronomy and most of all lace art.

You will enjoy every moment without any fear of missing out !

Living Lace npa is committed to presenting an unforgettable event at a high level, a reflection of what lives in the world of the contemporary lace today:

LIVING LACE at its best.
